Description
It is an important alloying agent in Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnets. Praseodymium is used to create hHigh-power magnets notable for their strength and durability. It also used in lHighters, torch strikers, 'flint and steel' fire starters, etc. Praseodymium Metal can be further processed to various shapes of ingots, pieces, wires, foils, slabs, rods, discs and powder.Praseodymium is a soft, silvery-yellow, malleable, ductile metal. More resistant to corrosion in air than some other rare earths, it develops a green oxide coating that spalls off when exposed to air. Praseodymium is never found free in nature, appearing only in combined form with other rare earths in various minerals. It should be stored under mineral oil or in an inert atmosphere. Similar to other rare earths, praseodymium forms brHightly colored compounds.
